These moments lately, standing in solidarity with our educators, have been the highlight of my running for the Trustee position in Area 4.
And tonight was another one of those moments.
Being welcomed and introduced by Sarah McLaughlin and Carol Peek, Presidents of VUEA and VESPA, in that beautiful outdoor space filled with the educators who show up every single day for our students was something I will not forget. To be surrounded by the people who truly are the backbone of Ventura’s education system, and to feel that level of support, warmth, and community, meant more to me than I can fully put into words. And you could not have asked for a more beautiful night in downtown Ventura.
Our Unions Matter
Thank you to our incredible educator unions for creating a space that celebrates not just the work, but the people behind it. Our unions matter. They protect, uplift, and give voice to the folks who shape the future of our community every single day.
You Are Everything
And our teachers, our staff, our support teams, you are everything. The care, dedication, and heart you pour into our students is what makes Ventura Unified the amazing school system that it is.
Tonight was not just an appreciation event. For me, it was a reminder of what is worth fighting for.
I am deeply grateful to have been invited to be a part of it.
