What an incredible evening for public education in Ventura.
Last night, I had the honor of hosting “A Night for Education in Ventura” alongside two outstanding educational leaders: Dr. Karen Sher, President of Oxnard Union High School District and candidate for Ventura County Superintendent of Schools, and Tony Thurmond, California State Superintendent of Public Instruction and candidate for Governor.
The Room
Thank you to everyone who attended, including our educators, parents, students, labor leaders, elected officials, community advocates, and supporters. A special thank you to Mayor Dr. Jeannette Sanchez-Palacios, VUSD Board President James Forsythe, and the leadership of VUEA and VESPA for joining us.
The Question That Guides Everything
As a mother, a California State Delegate, and a candidate for Ventura Unified School District Trustee, I believe every decision we make should begin with a simple question:
What is best for our students?
And so much of that answer is about transparency, supporting educators, strengthening public schools, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Building Together
Thank you for believing in my vision and for helping me build momentum toward November.
Because the future is not something that happens to us.
The future is something we build together.
