The Blue Table: Leadership That Shows Up First

August 17, 2026

Leadership starts with showing up, listening closely, and turning what our community says into action.

At The Blue Table Brunch for Democracy, I had the opportunity to listen to neighbors, advocates, community leaders, and elected officials, and to share why I am running for the Ventura Unified School District Board in Trustee Area 4.

The Challenges Are Real

VUSD is facing real challenges: restoring trust through transparency, navigating school closures and transitions with care, retaining talented educators and staff, supporting students and families, and making responsible decisions about our resources. No trustee can solve those problems alone.

What My Role Would Be

My role is to bring your voices into every room, clearly communicate what our schools need, and build working relationships with local, county, state, and federal leaders who can help us secure resources, coordinate solutions, and advocate for Ventura’s students.

That means showing up before decisions are made, not only afterward. It means listening even when the conversation is difficult, speaking honestly about what is and is not working, and finding partners willing to help us move forward.

Present, Transparent, Collaborative, Accountable

I am grateful for every conversation at The Blue Table and every opportunity to connect around the future of public education. This is the kind of leadership I will bring to VUSD: present, transparent, collaborative, and accountable.
